Targeted Teaching
An alternative way to teach
Each student receives two hours of structured, 1:1 teaching each week, providing the focus and support they need to build confidence and develop essential personal, social and career skills.
Delivered by qualified teachers who understand the needs of young people with SEND and SEMH.
Targeted Teaching In Action
Job Coach Session
Each week the Teacher plans community based session activities for the student to do 1:1 with their Job Coach based on their targets. Ranging from Work Experience days to CV writing activities.
Feedback
The Job Coach gives the student feedback on the day, and informs the teacher of progress towards targets and any areas of difficulty.
Personalised Planning
The teacher takes this information from the Job Coach and uses it to inform their next session's planning.
Targeted Teaching Session
They meet the teacher to do practical activities, building on the learning from earlier this week. The learning is planned to be engaging whilst teaching key career skills.
Planning for following week
The teacher plans the next week with the student's targets in mind. Considering any recent progress and any identified gaps in learning.

"Our aim goes beyond job readiness. Through our teaching sessions, we support students in building the confidence and capabilities they need to navigate adult life — from managing their wellbeing to interacting with professionals and planning for the future. This includes practical skills such as learning how to plan travel arrangements and manage a monthly budget.
